Friends of One Mile Creek (FOMC) and two other local groups in NOTL sent a letter to the Town on Monday raising concerns about the potential for flooding from a construction project that involves excavating most of a four-acre site to build two levels of underground parking. The construction is for the planned Two Sisters Resort at 325 King St. – the site of the former Parliament Oak elementary school.
It’s not clear to us that a site plan has been approved by the Town or an independent engineering assessment that was required has been completed.
While the site does not border on One Mile Creek directly, it is located a half-block away. Ground and storm water would be pumped into pipes that flow into the creek.
The letter was promoted by concerns from property owners along the creek. It was sent on behalf of FOMC, The Niagara Foundation and the NOTL Residents Association.
